Born in Silver Spring, Maryland, Jennifer West obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Art from the Ringling School of Art and Design. She had a 3 month painting fellowship at the Art School of the Aegean in Samos, Greece and later attended The Denver Art Students League in Denver, Colorado.
West defines her style as new impressionism. Her work is loose and free, imbued with clear life force and magnetism, within its simplicity you will find its meaning. Her council about any form of creation is: “Don’t worry about what people think about your work, just let go and truly enjoy what you are doing.” Jennifer West is a dedicated painter, applying herself to her art at least 60 hours each week. She is quoted saying “the artist who draws three hours a day is 10 years ahead of the artist who draws only one.”
West’s life is enriched by the time she spends with her husband, by her love of travel and her continued development as an accomplished flautist. Her other fulfilling pass time is spent on the back of her favorite horse!
