My inspiration for my work would be my active pursuit of reflecting beauty, goodness, and truth into the world. All of my leisure time is spent with the people I love and my dog in the mountains around Santa Fe. I feel a tremendous amount of grace in my life to have such easy access to the beautiful forest. In Chinese the character heaven and nature is the same. I am grateful to live in Santa Fe. All of my work is created with prayer. I had a grandmother who used to love to knit and at times would throw down her knitting. I remember as a little girl startled by this, asking her why she had done this. She told me that to close a loop or make anything with anything less than a good intention in your heart was unkind to the person who was wearing what you were creating. Her advice stayed with me my whole life and her voice is always with me when I am creating jewelry. Every piece is accompanied with a prayer. I believe deeply in the power of prayer and good intention in the ongoing creation of our world. Every morning as I look out of my bedroom window through our orchard at the Santa Fe Mountains I am grateful the grace present in all of our lives.
