Mario Chavez is a native New Mexican born in Albuquerque, 1964.
His love for creating jewelry came unexpectedly during a high school art class at the age of fourteen.
He found his niche working with stones and metals.
Chavez primarily taught himself, gleaning knowledge from other traditional and contemporary artists through the years while bringing a fresh perspective to the ancient art of goldsmithing.
In 1986 Chavez began designing his own line of jewelry.
Over the years, his style has grown to incorporate hand-fabricated custom work of sterling silver and high-karat gold with precious and rare semi-precious stones.
Included in his designs are inlayed and mosaic pieces using high-quality stone, cut and polished to a fine finish.
