Becky Eiker was born and raised in a small town in North Dakota. She fondly recalls what she describes as a “simpler and nostalgic way of life” filled with happy days on her grandparents’ farm as well as in school where she enjoyed the support of several art-minded teachers. Eiker was involved in art projects throughout her school years and went on to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education at the University of North Dakota. She taught art for many years before turning to private endeavors as a studio potter and sculptor.
Eiker’s childhood experiences deeply influenced the subject matter of her sculpture as she often depicts children at play as well as figures chosen from her prairie heritage. Her enthusiasm for her subject matter is readily apparent whether she is honoring the spirit of a pioneer or celebrating the joy a young dancer takes in her art. Eiker also enjoys sculpting animals and is known for her beautiful miniatures.
Many honors have been bestowed on Becky Eiker for her fine art bronze sculptures, including several Best of Show awards and Purchase Awards at museum shows. She and her husband, Bill, make their home in Montana.
