Jimmy Dyer is a serious young artist dedicated to depicting the life and the land of the Southwest. His colorful images are filled with the warmth and light of the southwestern sun and the timeless subjects of the region.
Dyer earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Dallas in 1980. He asserts that his art education continually adheres to a rigorous study schedule that includes sharpening his figure painting abilities.
Dyer spent the last five years painting and studying in New Mexico. His work was greatly influenced by many well known New Mexican artists, but particularly by Wayne Wolfe and Tom Lovell.
Dyer has now returned to his hometown of Irving, Texas. He is a consistent contributor to major shows, on regional and national levels. Though most of his recent work is in oils, Dyer also works in watercolors and charcoal.
